Thompson liquid form enamel is a very fine powder, designed to be mixed with water and brushed on, allowing you to create fine lines and intricate designs. Mix this Thompson powder enamel with enough water to achieve a brushable consistency—for best results it should be thick, similar to pancake batter. Adjust the consistency as desired, using care not to make it too thin (enamel crystals become too separated to fire well). Use brushable enamel to paint over other enamel to achieve water-color effects. This opaque semi-clear enamel works as a counter enamel (on the back side), preventing warping and cracking of enamel on the design side (front). This powder enamel contains polymer resin.
